At Elite Therapy Solutions, we believe return-to-sport clearance shouldn’t be about simply “passing” a test instead it should be about returning stronger, smarter, and more resilient than before.

As physical therapists, our job isn’t just to rehab an injury. It’s to ensure our athletes return to high-level performance at their peak and stay there. Unfortunately, many traditional return-to-sport assessments rely heavily on pass/fail metrics. But sport isn’t black and white and neither is movement.

An athlete may technically pass a hop test or strength assessment. But are they truly ready for the demands of competition?

We look beyond the checkbox.

Instead of focusing only on distance, time, or pain levels, we evaluate how the movement is performed:

  • Is it symmetrical compared to the uninvolved side?
  • Can it be repeated consistently without breakdown or fatigue?
  • Does the athlete maintain stability under distraction — just like in a real game?
  • Are subtle compensations appearing that could lead to re-injury?

Take a 19-year-old basketball player recovering from a right ankle sprain. After weeks of rehab, she passes her single-leg hop test with equal distance on both sides and no pain. On paper, she’s cleared. But when we analyze her movement, we notice increased hip flexion and limited dorsiflexion on the injured side these are subtle signs her body is still protecting that ankle.

Now imagine that same movement in the fourth quarter, under fatigue, in a high-pressure game.

That’s where re-injury happens.

At Elite Therapy Solutions, we train our eye to catch what others miss.

We utilize:

  • Repetitive performance testing for durability
  • Side-to-side movement analysis
  • Slow-motion video capture
  • App-based joint angle analysis for objective data
  • Game-simulation challenges to test focus and stability under pressure

Our goal isn’t just return to play.

It’s return to dominance — with confidence.

Because when we address the small dysfunctions before they become big problems, we protect the future of our athletes.

And that’s the Elite difference.
